Wow what an ***, the contract specifically says it does not cover after market wheels/tires. However the person that sold the warranty told me other wise. I then confirmed this with the service writer last time I went to lexus. So depending on the dealership it will cover aftermarket stuff. I treat my service writer pretty well, he says you can just replace it yourself and keep the bill and lexus will re imburse you. Of course there is paper work to fill out but he said when that time comes he will handle it

Changed out the run flats on our SC430...
Hello everyone!
I changed out the RF's a month ago to Goodyears.
Researched the whole thing here and at Tire Rack.
Purchased and installed by Mike at Thred Shed in Pittsburg, CA. First Class all the way!
Way, way, way better ride.
Bought the spare kit from Matt @ Roseville Lexus in Roseville, CA.
Paid $675 for everything including shipping.
Ordered it on a Friday, got it on Tuesday.
I installed myself. Took about 45 minutes; not hard, just time consuming.
No special tools required.
Looks factory all the way!
My thoughts:
1) MANY shops are NOT equipped to handle the repair of RF's. (With my luck, I'd probably have a necessary repair in an area where that would be the case).
2) My wife primarily drives the car. She has repeatedly PRAISED me for the change and I don't have to worry about #1 when she's driving the car. This alone was worth $675 to me.
3) We have AAA. Now, it's just a matter of a call, they change it and I take care of the repair/remount later.
4) Come guys, this is a $65/70 grand vehicle. We're splitting hairs over $600/700. This is no better than those who complain about the lack of luggage space: We all knew THAT when we signed on.
In any case, changing out the RF's has improved the performance and ride of the car. In my opinion, Lexus should have never installed them on the car in the first place.
My 2 cents worth (adjusted for inflation, of course)
