Door rattle
My car has the dreaded rattle. It clearly is coming from the wood insert above the handle. The passenger side does not have the problem even though it has the same speaker and same panel installed.
It seems this is a resonance from the panel, induced by the low frequencies from the in-door woofer. The front part of the panel seems secure, the middle vibrates more, and the tail end vibrates the most and generates the noise, I think.
I will insist the dealer work on this when the car goes in for the 1000 mile checkup. Maybe there is a screw holding the panel in place which needs to be tightened or a washer needs to be installed under its head to give a bit more tension. If that doesn't work, I'll suggest they pack the dead space in the door with compressed fiberglass or add mortite or some other putty to the back of the panel. I would think adding mass to the panel will reduce its resonance frequency out of the annoying range.
If anyone has had this probably successfully fixed and know how it was accomplished please let me know!
By the way, the stereo system sounds fantastic other than this. I'm pretty picky too, my home audio rig cost more than the car....

Common problem
In varying degrees. Just do a "door rattle" search on this forum and you'll find the various threads on the issue. Most of the time the repair involves adding padding behind the panel. Because of additional problems with my driver side panel (premature leather wear on door handle and indentation on door panel where my left leg rests against it) my dealer ended up replacing the entire panel under warranty.
Keep the pressure on your dealer, and don't accept the "its a convertible, you're gonna always hear a few rattles" excuse.
Good luck

ekovalsky,
I think it depends on the dealer. Lexus of Albuquerque thought I was insane and blew smoke up my *** about the door buzz problem. Kuni Lexus in Denver said they'd tried extra padding, replacing inside of door etc. and had had limited to moderate success. But, at least they acknowledged the problem and are working on a solution. They said Lexus was aware of the problem as well. Some dealers are helpful and some you'll have better luck playing pick up sticks with your butt cheeks than getting any kind of service.
Good Luck!!!

Door buzz
There's been a whole lot written about this problem in other threads....take a look at the thread titled "So far very disappointed (with service department)". Bottom line....insist that your dealer replace the interior door and add insulation behind the wood panel.

1nicesc430,
No, thank God, I'm not in the gassy smelly rectal area. I guess in some cases I am (stinky mouths are sometimes worse), but drilling filling and billing is my area of expertise.
