Default Arp wheel studs for wider wheels

In using a 18x9.5 +22 wheel i am finding that longer wheel studs are need. I have read negative comments on the ARP wheel studs.

Is anybody using the is300 ARP wheel studs #7715 and if so have you encountered any problems?

Why do you need longer studs? I'm running 10.5" +22 in the rears and they are fine on OEM hubs.

Would like more thread engagement than on front wheel which is only 35 offset

Are you using the correct nuts? Acorn Vs cone seat. As offset shouldn't affect how much thread you have on the bolts.

Most of my new nuts seem to be roughly 32- 35mm in length. The stud length is probably about 20-22mm at most for the nut to screw on to when the wheel is on. My wheels are all + 35mm offset and that works fine although as already said the offset of the wheel is irrelevant. This is the same length as with OEM wheels fitted although after market wheels normally have a 60 degree taper nut which is different to a standard Lexus OEM nut. If you look at a normal nut and bolt the nut is not massively big. It’s probably more important they are tightened to the recommended torque setting.

Picture was takem of aftermarket wheel held in place by 2 different styles of open ended lug nuts to determine how many threads eaxh lug nut would engage since they were obviosly engaging less threads than the stock wheels and lug nuts. Both type of open end lug nut have a 60° seat which matches lug seat on aftermarket wheel.

To be honest I didn’t take any measurements with the stock wheels fitted so my measurement’s are with the new wheels fitted. I did a lot of research before I actually received my wheels over a period of 9 months looking at various SC430 forums and Facebook and I don’t remember anyone saying they needed longer studs so I never even thought about it. If you haven’t tried it already I would put a stock wheel on and measure how much thread you have left and see what the difference is.

Yea in my years of experience with aftermarket wheels, never heard of this, needing new studs. Usually it's when you install slip on spacers. You should be able to add a 15mm hub centric spacer with built in studs at least for the rears, but not sure if you want to go that aggressive
