Default When replacing shocks

I've owned 2 SC400s & about to buy an extremely low miles '02 SC430. I know there was a significant suspension change '05. When I replace shocks (not interested in Coilovers) is it advisable, given desire for good ride quality over absolute cornering) to try to match the rest of changes Lexus made '05? Run flats are already switched for conventional tires. Thx
