Default Lexus RC Sport wheels

what do you think about these bad boys for the SC?

They are the 19-in SPLIT-FIVE-SPOKE ALLOY WHEELS WITH DARK GRAY AND MACHINED FINISH

They look good.
At a minimum get rid of the hideous OEM pie plate wheel center inserts and install the OEM "twist" alternates. Much better look for minimal cost.

see examples below-

Been contemplating buying them for a while, I just don't think that they are that much better.
Real improvment will be a brand new set of alloys. Plus you can then get 19" and 275 on the rear tiers. The problem for me is that I want to stick to original Lexus wheels and they cost a fortune.

Personally I don't care for them. I don't see any WOW factor about them at all. Maybe on a different car but not the SC.

Every one has different tastes for me the OEM 18s with the twist center caps look great and more importantly they work great with a nice set of 18 inch 40 profile tires. Going to bigger 19 or 20 inch wheels and bigger lower profile tires typically increases unsprung weight (a bad thing for ride and handling) and lower profile rubber significantly decreases ride quality. Not my cup of tea, but certainly lots of folks love the look of big wheels and wide skinny tires on SC430.

I too would agree that we should stick to 18 inch as much as possible. Lexus put on 18 inch for a reason, probably a good balance between the look and performance.
But even for the look I think there are some general principles. Though it ultimately boils down to personal taste, typically smaller cars should have cleaner and bolder lines which means less busy looking wheels. Quite often small performance vehicles would have no more than five spokes in factory wheels.
