VSC lights came on today but had check engine light as well
I have had the vsc lights on before after shop had scanner on car and I reset them with using the wire trick between pins. This time however the check engine light is on as well with the vsc lights? I am going to do wire trick again but thinking it wont clear check engine light as well and if not what could be issue?

When your Check Engine Light goes on, the car triggers your VSC lights also, to make it more obvious there is a problem.

OK code is P0456, small evap leak. I am going to disconnect battery next and order new gas cap unless anybody has any other ideas?
Can you get a cap at Toyota dealer verses Lexus, and it be the same?

I just had this problem. I bought a new gas cap but It turns out it was the vacuums lines in the engine bay cracking. I went to oreilly's and bought 5 ft of 5/16 (I THINK, take a sample) vacuum line. It was like 78 cents a foot.
I tried the most common solution, which is replace the broken vaccum hose under the engine cover near the Dipstick (The hose was broken)
I will admit, I got lazy and only replaced the broken lines first, but it got to the point that it was just easier to replace them all at once.
Once I replaced the lines on both sides of the engines, the code went away.

In addition to vacuum lines cracking, if you notice any of the lines came off, reinstall them and be ready to replace the motor mounts, this is an almost perfect sign the mounts need to be replaced unless someone was working on the car and forgot to reinstall the lines.
