Default Mirror Waze to navigation screen

What's the best tool (if any) to mirror Waze on an Android phone to the navigation screen.

I've not done it but how about using a Naviks video navigation interface module plus a video interface module. Not cheap though and the car touch screen won't operate the Android.

I have done screen miroring with my phone to the OEM Nav sceen. You will need two devices: NavIKS/NavTool and a screen mirror unit (I chose Boss Audio). Other screen mirror units are available, but first consider if you want wireless mirroring or hard wire? I've attached two links. The first is my entire media upgrade. For you, you'd only need to pay attention to the NavIKS install. The second link gives more info on screen mirroring. LMK if you have any questions. Good luck.

Good choice. Please let us know if the wireless mirroring has any lack when you play videos (ie. if the audio syncs up to spoken word on the video), please. Thanks and good luck.

Just my 2 cents here---mirroring smartphone to the nav screen just does not have much practical value, unless you just want to watch DVD movies while you are driving. Because you will still need to have a phone amounted somewhere so that you can touch and talk to enter info. Then you realize that the screen looks crappy compared to your 6 inch HD phone. Even if you like the idea of touching the phone while looking at the nav screen you will still have to get the audio connected from the console to the trunk. After you get all of those set up and can live with the awkwardness you will have to run the toggle switch from the trunk to the console and amount it somewhere after some cutting. By the time you have done all of that it would occur to you why not simply use your smartphone as a second nav screen and save yourself all the trouble.
Now if you have a Grom Vline type of setup then nav screen option would totally make sense.

Unfortunately, I don't completely agree. I didn't have to run a switch to the front of the car. I used a wireless RF switch. The key fob switch hangs from my keychain and I can easily toggle between the factory system and my media bundle (including the screen mirror on video input 1, and the Asus OPlay Media player on Line 2). Also, the car still shows the rearview camera when I gear into reverse. As for audio, I bought the VaisTech SL3U which gives a dedicated AUX input to the OEM Radio. If you don't have this SL3U, you could just use a tape adapter connected to the mirror device by 3.5mm. I use my screen mirror for longer trips and nearly everytime I use Waze. In any case, you shouldn't be fidgeting with your phone while in motion once your destination is set.

Does Naviks sell an RF switch? I imagine you need to connect the aux 3.5mm to the phone as well?

No, I had to buy mine from Ebay and asked the seller specifically for a reverse toggle "passthrough" RF switch (means that the unpowered state is closed, and the push button "opens" the connection). I don't have the seller that I purchased my switch from, so I can't link. Sorry. As for the audio, no the 3.5 connected to the screen mirror unit. That way when I screen cast my phone, video and sound both go through the mirror unit (If I recall correctly. I will check tomorrow. Car has been in winter storage).

A controls power on/off on my Asus Media Player, B control the trunk mounted NavIKS; therefore B is the switch which must be the "passthrough"

Oh and I originally bought this camera....

and after the frame's finish flaked and finally broke on me, I purchased this....
Amazon Amazon
. Works pretty good in my opinion and the second one is all metal versus the first which was a spun nylon. Both are easy to wire and have grid lines. I recommend installing your plate at the same time as the NavIKS and using the same power wire off the harness that the NavIKS installation indicates is the reverse power lead so that way both turn on only when in reverse and not powered "constantly," for no reason.
