Default Headlight Washer Cover Question

Hi Everyone,
New to the forums here. I just bought a 2003 Lexus SC 430 that was missing the headlight washer covers. I attached pics here showing the holes in the front bumper. I have 2 questions.

Question 1 - As shown in the pic of the driver side, the plastic clip next to the nozzle is broken in half. Does anyone know if I can replace just that clip (and do you have a part # by any chance) or do I have to have the whole nozzle assembly replaced.

Question 2 - The replacement covers I've seen on eBay don't seem to have any attachment pieces (http://www.ebay.com/itm/02-05-OEM-LE...xWLbCA&vxp=mtr). Just an elongated cylinder thingie. Am I missing anything to connect these covers to the nozzle or does the end just pop in?

I've read this thread and the documents cited therein, but am still a little confused - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc4...tallation.html
Any help would be very much appreciated!

Phil

I've been researching this throughout the day, and it appears the part I need is #4 in the attached figure. However, the other parts (1, 2 and 3) look nothing like what I have on the car now. It looks like the cover is supposed to "plug in" to the rest of it, but I don't see how it can do that. Help!!

Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and ordered the covers, which should give me an idea of what else I need. They were relatively inexpensive for the pair on eBay.

the third link in your first post has a good illustration in the second or third post. I just hope you don't end up with two sets of covers. The item in your picture is broken for sure.
let us know if we can provide additional assistance!

BTW, welcome to CL, post a pic of your car, when able!

Thanks for the welcome Bwg70. Loving the car so far. Was able to find an '03 sitting in a guy's garage for 10 years. Only 23k miles!

Welcome to the forum klpps and congratulations on what sounds like a good buy! 23k miles on a 13 year old car is a really good find.

Do your washers work? If so, that should be a good indication of how much of the assembly is there.

Thanks Harold. The washers do work... so I'm hoping when I get these covers it will be apparent what I need.

Please circle back and let us know what you find. My nozzle is broken and I am told that the entire assembly must be purchased. $391.28 at the delaership; online it is $236.87.

Either way, I will either salvage what I have or I will have dirty headlamps cuz I am surely not paying that kind of cash for an insignificant feature.

Will do. If it requires much more money and work, I will just fix the covers onto the car to cover the holes, and not use the washers.

It turns out I have everything I need. Attached is a picture of the back of one of the pieces I got off eBay. There are two screws that hold the actual cover in place. It looks like for my passenger side, I just need to screw the cover into the two holes on the clip. For the driver side, I will need to swap that piece out because the clip is broken. Based on some of the diagrams I've seen, it looks like there is a clip on the top of the nozzle that if I unhook, the entire piece can be pulled out. Question - Can I reach under there to get to the nozzle or do I need to take the front bumper off?

Got the covers on there with no problem. With the car off, I used my fingers to pull the old nozzle and was able to pull it out a few inches out of the bumper. While I held the nozzle piece by the edge (so it wouldn't go back into the bumper), my wife unclipped the top and bottom and pulled it off and then clipped the new cover back in. No need to jack up the car or take the bumper off. Once I figured out what needed to be done, took less than 5 minutes.

Old pieces that came off.
