New to me 2006 SC430
First timer on the sc430 forum, I'll start by saying I have been a Lexus owner for 13yrs. 2006 GS300, 2008 RX350 and presently a 2010 RX450h. I have always wanted a sc and finally bought one, a2006 36000mi. in pretty nice shape. Bought the car on-line at Parker Lexus in Little Rock had it shipped to cen. Florida. Was TOLD that everything worked, get the car and the audio door will not open or close. I was glad it is in the open position. Took it to Lexus of Orlando for service and to have the door looked at. Did the service no problem, paid $79.95 for audio door diagnostic, no problem they tell me it's a $3000.00 plus fix, OK, which I decline. Get the car home and the ash tray cover and lighter isn't working. Would this be related to the audio door diagnostic. Called dealership, they told me it was already broke. HELP

do you have a multimeter and know how to use it?
below are three schematics that show the power for the radio door and lighter. They are on different fuses which mean the problems are not related.
in the first pic, look on the left side where you will see the Audio Door Control SW, follow the purple and gray lines to the top and you will see two fuses.
7.5A Dome and 10A radio NO.2. Make sure those fuses are good.
second pic, right middle of page, find the 15A CIG and it shows the same 10A RADIO NO. 2 fuse again.
check all three fuses, if they are good you have a bigger problem.
report back when you have the answers...the owners manual will show the locations of these fuses.

The astray door is spring loaded witch worked before it went in for service, as well as the lighter. I do have a multimeter. I looked in the owners manual and it said the lighter is a the same circuit as a lot of other things that still worked. I will check. Thanks I don't seem to see the pics. your talking about, sorry first timer.

Pole Position
Remove the console, you will see there is a connector behind the switch. I'll bet you this connector is loose.
