Squeaking noise in dash solved outside of car
While driving the last couple of days my wife and I had been hearing a squeaking sound coming from the dashboard while driving over bumps. I thought it might have been related to the recent passenger air bag replacement, ugh, never had a noise before. Further diagnosis with my wife outside the car going slow over bumps indicated the noise was originating from out side the vehicle. So going slow over those bumps I reached down and popped the primary hood release latch from inside the car and voila! the creaking/squeaking "Dash" noise was gone.
I pulled into the driveway and lifted the hood and proceeded to lubricate all of the underhood weather strips and rubber stop plugs with "Sly Glyde" weather strip lubricant. Looks like very thick brown vaseline. Worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Noise gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
