Turn Off "I Agree" on a 2004 - Anybody Actually Done It?
There are several threads on this site about turning off the "I Agree" nav message using a product from Vaistech. The Vaistech web site says their product only works on 2005+ years. I mistakenly believed this referred to a "2005 nav system" (i.e. Gen 4 or better) so I upgraded my nav to a 2006 Gen 4. When I actually got the Vaistech part and realized it attached to the radio and not the nav, I called Vaistech to see if it would work on my existing radio (FYI - lexus part numbers for the 2004 and 2005 radios are exactly the same so I am assuming it is the same radio). They did not believe it would although they were not 100% positive. I also asked them if it would work if I installed a 2005+ radio. They did not believe that would work either.
Now I am thinking the problem must be with the "whole car" CPU in the 2004...just doesn't have the right software in it. But, before I give up on this project...just thought I would see if anyone out there had actually accomplished what I am trying to do. If so, how did you do it? Thanks for your input.
