Default Upper Tail light Lens

I have a 2005 SC 430 that I changed the tail lights from 2005 to 2006 (Lexus OEM), then I bought the upper taillights (OEM) but after the install I am left with a 1/4 to 3/8 gap in the tail lights. I am not sure where I went wrong I just no that is not what it should look like. Also what and where is the ECU. What to do?

....I have a 02' & was able to slide the lens a little up/down to get the gap closer. I replaced a bulb awhile back & the gap was larger when I finished, than when I started. I loosened them, moved them some, retightened & was able to get the gap closer. I'm not sure where the ECU is located, since I haven't done this upgrade

Haven't done this upgrade yet, but I am about to order parts. The ECU is located in the truck. Have to take out the bottom trunk lining to get to it. There is a recent thread on this whole process. May be located toward the end of the thread "What have you done for your sc today". Hope this helps.

Default Tail lights upgrade

Thanks for the help. I have located the fuse box in the trunk , just need to find out which one is the correct one so I can buy it and install it. I am going to buy OEM tail lights for 2006 sc and hopefully that should solve how the tai lights fit.

What do you guys think ? Is paying $600-$750 worth it to just change the
rear tail lights ? I am seriously thinking of the upgrade but
is the light really worth $750 to upgrade to led tail lights ?

.....now that just depends on how much you want them....lol....if you think about any upgrade, there are some mods that we want more than others & we're willing to pay more/extra. I do like the upgraded tail lights, but they just aren't a "must have" for me, especially for that price

It was absolutely worth it to me. It changes the entire look of the rear of the car for the better (IMHO). I an thrilled with the switch. My mom, who knows nothing about cars, even commented it looks much sleeker now. And my spouse, who never wanted me to get the car in the first place, also had to admit it looks much better. I sprung for the ECU as well, but that is certainly not necessary.

I have an 02 that I updated my taillights. It really, really looks nice! It is a great upgrade. It was money well spent. I bought a used ECU on Ebay and installed it. It was easy. It only took my about 30 min, probably less.

Best upgrade for our SC's. From the rear, when you see the LEDs, you are assuming it is a 2006+ SC430.

Arggh .. You guys talked me into it

going under the knife to get both tails
Upgraded .

Here are the two tail lights side by side
as a comparison. This is not my SC
but it will give you guys an idea of the
difference

Yup, that is a perfect encapsulation on how great that mod is. You will be glad you did it.
