IMO, not really, unless you are racing, driving in certain weather conditions or just playing around...some may disagree.
It's just an automatic transmission.

if you put the car in 3rd at a stop,will you take off in 3rd or will it shift to low or first..

It will start out in first. It just won't shift any higher than third gear.

so can you go shift all the way down to low at a stop, and shift up through the gears...Or just as easy to start in 3rd and let the trans do the rest?? Thanks for all your replies ....
