Just placed an order for the Power Stop Z23 carbon fiber / ceramic pads for front and rear from Rockauto.com
They come with new clips etc.
$77.53 shipped

For those in UK/Europe...

I went for EBC "Green Stuff" pads & MTEC "Black Edition Drilled & Grooved Discs"

They look like this (IE black when fitted, but when driven polish up with only the groves left black):

Nothing high performance or flashy, quite cost effective actually.

Hey Mandy, watch it with the combo of OEM rotors and ceramic pads. That was me two sets of rotors ago - got Posi Quiet ceramics, really liked the stopping power but they caused my OEM rotors to warp. Hope it does not happen to you but I was using my car as daily driver so maybe I put more stress on the brakes than you would. Or maybe it was just the Posi Quiets - famous for high heat generation.

OBP, yup we did discuss that one time. So far so good. You are right with the use factor. Mine is for leisure.

I finally installed the Powerstop Brake Pads yesterday and just performed the break-in procedure this morning.
Z23-619 front
Z23-771 rear
The kit included new pads, clips and 2800F grease.
After the break-in and cool down period I drove around a little to test them out. VERY impressed with the stopping ability of these pads. After another cool down period of driving and easy stopping, I returned home and measured the temp.
Now I know this is not scientific and I did not perform a before and after measurement but here are my findings.
Caliper temp, 135F
Rotor temp 105F
The pad temps were not taken because they are not exposed.

So is the break-in procedure mainly important because they are ceramic pads?

What was the ambient air temperature at the time you took the brake temperature?

It allows the headed resin in the brake pads to cool and cure.

It was about 75 degrees and 95 percent humidity.
