Default Unconnected connector

SC430 '04 USA market. Does anyone know what this connectors is used for? It is to the passenger side of the oil filter. Everything is working and I can't find a place where it would go. Probably an unused branch in the wiring harness but I just wonder if anyone know.

I think it was when my headlights were being replaced my mechanic found an extra connector on the passenger side of my '06 SC. It had me a bit concerned, but I think you nailed it when you said USA. This extra connector could be for the Japan or EU market, but has no effect on how the car runs or performs.

Hmm might be the side repeater/turn signal lamp that is was required for the EU/AUS SC430's. Would be great to know if it activates with the turn signals.

This connector looks familiar...has your timing belt been swapped? If so, I think I may know where this conector belongs.
See post no18 of my timing belt swap. The wire in my pic is yellow. Let us know!

Yes the timing belt was changed about 20k miles ago at 55k. It does look like that but it's the other end that is not connected. It is only on the drivers side running down to the side of the oil filter. It is held in by a support and can't reach far.

Please forgive me but, are you saying it is connected to the oil filter mount?

No, just to the side with a clip but not on the mount ... So there's only about 5" hanging free.

How's this, when I did my timing belt, I saw no loose connectors.

Right. I'll let you know if I find where it goes. You have an 02-04?

I have a 2002...and I would certainly be interested in where it connects!

This photo is similar to yours. On the right lower area there is a connector with one bolt. To the left of this connector, there are two bolts next to each other, one with red or pink ink on the bolt. Could this be the location?
It's difficult to see in your pic, if a plug is on the connector.
Also, note how close the oil filter housing is in the photo. Your loose wire is very close to the oil filter. When you are under the car, you cannot see the connector on the oil filter housing.

I still think your loose wire may go to the oil filter housing.

This is a different angle of the wire that connects to the oil filter housing.
Our cars should be exactly the same.
You should get a mirror and look at the connector on your oil filter housing because I bet it does not have a wire connected to it! ;-)

That certainly could be it. I will check in the morning. What does that circuit do?

I am not sure but it could be for the oil pressure light.
Open is good and closed completes the circuit and the light comes on.

That was it! Thank you very much. You can see from below looking from the rear toward the front.
