Default Intermittent Beep

About every 10 to 20 minutes while driving I hear 5 or six intermittent beeps. No warning lights or anything, just the beeps. What is it? I have a 2002 SC430.

Do you have any warning lights on the dash that are lit up?

Did you just purchase the car? It could be something aftermarket from the previous owner.

Generally, a beep from the car is accompanied by a fault indicator on the dash.

Possibly traction control? What condition are your tires in?

^ i didnt know traction control beeps?

1) maybe tpms sensors but someone has put tape on light behind cluster.. (the beeps hes describing really sounds like tpms and if hes just bought car then taping light may actually be the case*
if he hasnt figured it out we can start by getting him to unplug tpms plug under center console and see if that helps

2) but unless roof isnt working and red light on switch is on (most people cant tell if thats a warning)

3) or it could be that RANDOM A$$ BEEP , which happened to me last year randomly twice.. i remember a thread about it.. random and slightly long beep for no reason... lol

I do really think its 1)

My traction control system beeps and makes a ratcheting sound when activated, such as on loose gravel or on wet roadways when the tires start to spin. If the OP has bare tires, the Traction Control System would activate more frequently, leading to these beeps. In any case, it would be helpful if the OP responded to any of our suggestions.

Have the same problem as Family, does anyone know if there is a definitive solution to this issue?

First we need to find out what is the beeps indicate then we will have the solutions.

We asked Family many questions to help diagnose what the beeps indicate, none of which he responded to.

Maybe you could respond to those questions and describe you situation with more specificity.

It would be especially valuable to know patterns -- i.e. does it always occur when moving, never stopped? Is there a specific speed that it happens? Is there anything else going on (turn, braking, etc). In other words, tell us as much as possible about the specific environment when it happens. We need to figure out what is triggering the beeps.
