I have ordered well over a $1k in parts from Rockauto and they have never sent me the incorrect part...I feel very confident you ordered the correct part from Amazon.

See top Denso part.

Awesome! I usually double check and for some reason I just ordered without checking, but all good, you were right!

Over the weekend I had multiple P0051 and VSC and VSC Off Lights CEL’s

I have reset them using my OBDII scanner. It keeps on coming back.

This means the BANK 2 SENSOR 1 (just before the CAT) is reading low temps and therefore throwing a code. I get this.

Question is why do the VSC lights go “ON” too?

This started when I installed my ScanGage e this weekend. This is a change point.

Before I go purchase a Denso sensor, I would like to perform a series of tests:

1. Remove the ScanGage e. Test drive if any of the CELs (P0051 and VSC) come back.
2. If the same set comes back, clear the VSC lights code using our home made device.

If the VSC lights disappear and the P0051 comes back, I will replace the BANK 2 SENSOR 1 Oxygen sensor. Prior to replacing, I will check for wiring issues on this sensor.

Anybody has gone through this P0051+VSC Lights issue?
Mandy, when Nalley replaced my O2 sensor 2 yrs back it was also a CEL and VSC lights situation. Had this experience twice cos I have had them replace two different O2 sensors over the last 5 yrs. There was never anything wrong with the VSC. Those warning lights usually just light up together for an O2 sensor issue.

Thanks OBP. I purchased the sensor but maybe will ask my tech to replace it.

I had Engine Check lights on for few days. Stopped at PepBoys to get the codes.

I got P0440, P0441 and P0446 then I drive away and Surprise! I see VSC and VSC OFF lights on. (did he do anything wrong?)

I read this thread and do not understand any.

What's risk to continue driving? can anyone walk me through step by step?

I have been researching on how to replace Bank 2 Sensor 1 O2 Sensor and I am gaining ground.

I have read the manual and it seems to be the easier of the 2 PASS side sensors. Bank 2 Sensor 2 after CAT CONV is actually plugged inside the cabin. Bank 2 Sensor 1 pre-CAT is right after the exhaust manifold as shown below:

When I checked the actual procedure to replace Bank 2 Sensor 1, it simply states: Remove O2 sensor!

Here's the O2 sensor check itself:

Location 1 and 2 should show 5 to 10 ohms. If it shows outside of the range, the sensor is no good. Replace. This is the 1st step in diagnosing the P0051.

Mandy, many thanks for all this info.
I'm lurking waiting to see which direction this takes you.
Wife is continuing to drive with all the lights showing for her P0051; I've convinced her no harm is coming to her car, and worst case she may be emitting a tiny amount of extra pollution until her sensor gets up to operating temperature. (I think I'm right about that!)

The only Youtube video I can find is not very helpful, and makes this job look like more than I want to tackle.
Hope you find otherwise; whether it's you or your tech who does the job.

Standing by and appreciating your posts.

You are not a contributor of harmful gases, no worries. I just hate to see the lights in the dashboard.

I ma tackle this while I change the oil. Hopefully this weekend. Sensor 1 is the easier of the 2. The Sensor 2's are actually plugged inside the cabin.

Try searching for LS430 or GS430 P0051's. These cars are essentially the same as our SC430's.

Scheduled for SAT, with the oil change.

I will take pictures, 1st thing is to check the resistance of the O2 sensor, if outside the spec, I will know it is the O2 sensor itself. If the sensor checks OK, then it is a whole different story, it diverts you to the air-fuel ratio issue.

From what I have read on the Tundra forums (it has the same 4.3 engine we have), the hard part is unclipping the sensor connector. The sensor itself will need to be baked in PB Blaster for an hour so it can be unscrewed with little effort.

Curse and wail, have been part of the description of the people who have done it.

So I shall be prepared.

Same exact issue in our 2004, same caution lights are on along with the headlight leveling. Looks like a Christmas tree!!! Been this way for over a year - everything running fine.

My headlight leveling light shows its ugly head during the cold days of winter.

This is Bank 2 Sensor 1 O2 Sensor. You can easily see it by looking at your passenger side wheel well. The connector though is mounted right above your oil pan. Very crowded and all the way in. After spending some time, I was able to remove the connector. More pics later.
