Default Small Power steering Leak

Merry Xmas Guys,
hope all is off to a great start.
well what do u know after 11yrs of problem free ownership...my 2nd problem in under a month.
mind you, the 1st was very small, dealt with replacement of the ignition coils n spark pulgs, no biggie.
Now I have a very small Power Steering leak and my main concern is that it'll damage my battery alternator. my question is might any of you know how long does it take for the PS leak to messup the alternator. I don't plan on wating very long to fix but at this point, after reading a few threads, I don't even want to turn on or move the car in fear that it'll blow the alternator...might any of you guys have some insight on this matter and if so, would you kindly share that knowledge?
thank you so very much for any and all help you guys can provide.
Happy Hoildays to ALL!!!

....I experienced this on a Ls400 that I once owned. I think I went about a month, but it wasn't done on purpose...lol. I knew that I had a small leak & added power steering fluid twice, then realized that it was dripping onto the alternator. I immediately had it fixed & no other damaged occurred. Now with this being said.....I wouldn't try doing this, because there isn't a guarantee on how long it will last. I would get the leak fixed, then wash the engine really good, to possibly remove any fluid that may have dripped on/in the alternator.Hopefully you'll have no other issues

Default Update

Hey just thought I would update you guys on the club Lexus.

Turns out it was my valve gasket covers...searched online it's not a very pricey part don't know how labor-intensive it is but the quote they gave me for everything parts/labor $350.

Crazy thing is I figured Lexus would have caught this when I took it in for an oil change less then 200miles ago...

Anyhow, I'll keep you guys posted on how things turn out.

Take it Ez

Like others have said, common for the valve cover bolts to loosen over time. I know I have tightened mine. Again like others have said you can turn them with your fingers.
