I may leave it be, and focus on other aspects of the car. I did get 4 new tires and remove the muffler this weekend. I think it's an atrocity to squelch the sound of a V8.

No one has mentioned the existence of a button located in the glove compartment, (side towards the drivers seat, best I remember) that has to be in or out for the top to function.

Yeah, that's always the first thing everyone mentions.

Ok, finally got around to taking some pictures of the luggage lid lift assembly.

This piece I have to pry over to the side with a screwdriver so it sits on top of this bolt head.

It just barely makes it on the edge, instead of the center like the other side. And this is after manually prying it up and over before it latches.

Then I have to ensure the front seats properly where the red arrows point, before it will latch completely where the yellow arrows point.

If one side is positioned properly and the other is not, then it sounds like the mechanisms are either bent or the whole thing is twisted off to an angle (horizontally rotated slightly).

The guy I bought it from said when he bought it, the guy told him it had been in an accident that involved the right rear. The top didnt work when he bought it. I asked him if he knew what was needed to get it working and he just pointed at this piece here. I asked him why he didn't get it working, and he said he didn't care about the convertible top. He just like the Lexus V8. I didn't realize this piece was caddywampus until I opened the top manually, then struggled with this piece for an hour trying to get it closed. But the codes I ran point to the roof motor pulse width modulation Error (ground) on the left side. But even if I got it operational, this piece will still need to be addressed.

The used arm with motor were not that expensive on eBay. If that's all it would need.

That would be the first thing needed that I know for sure.

Here's to buying the first piece of the puzzle. Hopefully this fixes the one of many issues that appear to exist with this hard top function.
