I went ahead with painting the engine cover in wgc. I didn't want to do anything ostentatious. I wanted it to look like something the factory may have done to make it dressier. I think it turned out really well.

I like it Cole and I am thinking of doing a color match with mine too!
Blue and silver may look good!
Thanks for starting this...

This is the first time I've sprayed a three stage paint. It took some practice on poster board to figure out how to spray the pearl. Since it's translucent it's a little tricky. It helped a lot that I was painting on a horizontal surface. Going over pearl It was harder to tell how much 2k clear I was spraying. If I had been on a vertical surface I may of had a run or two. Spray clear to light and you have to deal with awful orange peel. Thank goodness I practiced on the poster board or I would have had a mess.

I also replaced mine. Awsome. Thanks Cole.

I found this dealer on Amazon, only $9.99 for a pair, free shipping and arrived in 4 days.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Only drawback is you have to drill the 5/8 inch hole into the inner housing because the bulbs are too long.

I finally broke down and got the timing belt and water pump changed. I had it done yesterday at an Indy shop here in spring Texas. It came to a total of $918.73. The belt looked excellent. Personally I think it's more about the tensioner, and water pump.

Picture isn't so good from my iPad.

Default New wheels

Finally got my new wheels put on. Sorry the photos are so big! Agh! They are nothing fancy, rather boring actually, but I'm not a big chrome person so I needed to swap them out. These are 18" silver five spokes, but I prefer them to the old ones.

I got some Lumarai - and it turns out the old wheels were actually too small for the new tires the dealership had put on before selling the car, so these are a bit wider. I have some silver Lexus center caps on their way and those should arrive next week. I'm going to try to list the old ones on Craigslist or eBay - new the original owner paid about $275 a wheel, I'd be thrilled to get $400 for the set of four.

Default New stereo

I also got my Pioneer NEX4200, backup camera and satellite tuner installed. The good news is I have my music back, the bad news is the guy dinged my leather dash when he removed the stock stereo. I had it done by Best Buy Geek Squad and I'm contemplating making a claim.

When he installed it, I also lost the green lights on the a/c panel - the functions work but the buttons don't light up, so I'm taking it back in to him today to get that fixed, he thinks a wire just isn't fully seated and connected properly. Needless to say, I'm not thrilled that he is working on my car again but I want it the way it was when I dropped it off. Okay, that isn't going to happen with the gouge in the leather though, but at least my buttons will light up again hopefully.

My spouse freaked out and placed blue painter's tape all over the dash so he won't gouge it again. Does anyone happen to know if there a good way to use leather filler to at least make the hole less noticeable? I saw an Instructable about using sugru for it, it may be worth a try.

Hole in the dash

Prepping for the work - not to worry, the car is not in the sun so no sun is on the tape.
