Default Proud owner of the Lexus

I bough the first Lexus, a 1991 LS400, loved it dearly and finally have to say good bye and sold it in 2011 for $2500, with the odo reading 346,000 miles.
My ex owned the 95 SC400 and my wife owned the 98 ES300. We are all happy with our cars.
I dreamed to own the SC430 for a while since I sold the LS. I searched for the SC430 began in the summer when we seriously considering in buying one.
Finally, I found the 07 at Car Castle from the ads of Car Guru. Boy, I'm the lucky one. It's black, 50k miles, but looked brand new as just got out the showroom. I don't think this car spent a day outside at night. The leather is soft and shiny, every thing is just perfect (well, except for the Nav screen finger print marks). The previous owner must be a car enthusiast. I'm 63, and this car is probably the last car I would own. It will last til the day I leave this world.
I'm happy as a clamp. Yahoo!!!!

Congratulations on your new acquisition! It sounds like you got a good one. Be sure to post a picture when you get a chance.

So was your '95 a SC300 or SC400?

What gave you an idea that I work for Gov ? LOL.

No, I was a Manufacturing Engineer, worked for TRW, EG&G, Mykotronx and others for 21 years. I finally quit the ME job in 2006 and opened the Traffic Safety School. I sold the school in 2011 and became a Driving Instructor til now. I plan to totally retire in 2018 and will enjoy the stress-free life style with my SC.

Thanks for asking.

One other thing. Just look at the tires from the photo above, I can't believe they had 50,000+ miles on them. They look brand new, without wear and tear to the threads. They're RFT and there no record that they have been replaced.

Is that possible?

Not possible for a 50,000 mile tire to look brand new. Check again. What brand are they? SC430 used PIrelli RFT's as OEM tires.

Highly suggest you go to Lexus.com and register as a Lexus Owner. You can find out the history of your car, if it was serviced in a Lexus dealer.

Great catch!

Yeah on RFTs, they start getting really loud and bumpy after about 20k miles. Their useful life is prob more like 25 to 30k miles at best. Lose them for regular tires. You will be happier. Congrats on a nice new to you SC430.
