Default Plain crazy with Plasti-Dip

Check out some pics of my plastidipping. I was trying to cover up a spot where the paint was chipping down to primer, went a little crazy when I thought it was looking good. The back bumper is where the paint was chipping FYI. Looking for some validation, but I really do like how it came out.

Nice little highlight (or low lights?) on the tail end.

Not a fan......distracts from the car and adds lines that should not be there.

Default Lines

I did follow lines in the body for the dip. The bottle follows the ground effects and the trunk follow the bend line in the bumper. That's the most questionable one, the bumper, but it's also covering up some really ugly paint.

I like it, FWIW.

I'd play around with the pillars around the windshield to fit the theme. Maybe just the center piece.

I plan to do a repaint on mine in the spring/summer and I am so leaning red. But red is such a cop magnet. It's the best color I've seen on an SC430, though. IMO

Not feeling the mis-match color. Maybe do the whole car.

I was going to do something similar but decided on Dr. Color Chip which actually came out better than expected.

If you are dead set on the plasti-dip you may want to Google red and black two tone car images for some examples on patterns.

Lastly did you use spray cans or a plasti-dip sprayer to do your plasti-dip?

Good job, but it does not do it for me, sorry.
At least with Plasti-dip you can peel it off again.

I think that's why when you go to dipyourcar.com they only sell the aresol cans in wheel dip kits and not for painting the car. The plasti-dip in an air powered sprayer doesn't need the solvent and uses an air compressor to atomize the plastic.

Just FYI.

looks like you did a neat job.. personally not something I would do on SC...

for example your side skirt looks like you bought an unpainted one.. I think the spoiler looks alright, luckily you can peel it off though!

How ever you should probably Wrap your roof like Will44 did.. I think that special edition SC "eternal jewel" in red came with a beige color roof. looked pretty neat!

I like the door bumpers and the spoiler, now you have me wondering how the grille would look in black.
