Default Optimal Method to Keep Water Out of Cold Air Intake

Researching methods to keep water away from my CAI to avoid hydrolock. Have seen the mesh covers that go over the cone filter. Do those work effectively? There are also several bypass valves available, but I'm concerned they will just suck in hot air from the engine bay and defeat the purpose of the CIA.

What do you all think?

I'm not exactly sure of the benefits for a cold air for the 4.3L. You may not actually benefit all that much. What the car really needs is a less lazy transmission.

Well my CAI rocks. Big difference. But my question was in regard to keeping out water.

By the way, already modified the transmission with valve body mod and throttle controller. No lazy throttle response/transmission in this sc!!!
