Have you registered at mylexus.com yet? Once you add the VIN for your car to your account you'll have access to all the service records where previous owners have had it serviced at either Lexus or Toyota dealers. It won't show any work done by independents but dealer service will show. The one you're looking for is where they changed the timing belt - likely somewhere around 90-100K miles.

If that's been done already, relax.

If not, squirrel away some $ and get it replaced along with the water pump and spark plugs, etc as soon as you can - the listed life of the timing belt is 90K miles. Although it can last far longer (some people have never changed them), a failure is catastrophic and time for an engine replacement. Have an independent shop do it and should cost you under $700.
