Default Dark Grey UK build thread

Hello from the UK and by way of introduction, here are a few before and after pictures of my project SC.

It's a 2006 6 speed in dark grey with dark wood and the ivory interior.

I've owned various Lexus GS430, LS430 and in the past 2 Soarers, a TT and a V8 and it is due to the Soarer history that I just had to have a project SC to mildly modify.

Purchased just under a year ago, it's still a work in progress but after posting pictures of the latest attempt to create a different rear spoiler I was asked to show the rest of the kit so here it is.

This is how it looked in 2014 before I took delivery

Looks okay but there were a few minor body work scratches so it was perfect as a project car.

This is how it looks today with the rear spoiler temporarily attached, Staggered alloys 8.5 and 9.5, tyres front 255 35 19 rear 285 30 19

The kit was cheap from Poland and needed a bit of work. I modified the front spoiler to accept the headlight washers and removed the front fog light holders.

I did most of the work to get it looking how I wanted it and then handed it over to experts to finish it off before a complete re-spray.

The rear fogs, number/licence plate lights and reverse lights had to be changed. Custom made stainless steel sports exhaust with 3rd cat delete.

Yes, I do like the quad exhaust. That's what I had on the V8 de-catted Soarer. Perhaps large oval tails would look better on the SC.

This is how it looked from below with a larger rear spoiler.

Another view of the larger spoiler taking shape.

Apart from routine servicing, cam belt, water pump and a strut brace, little has been done under the bonnet so far. I have a GS anti-roll bar waiting to be fitted. Would like air suspension but I plan to fit RMeister coil overs sometime over the summer.

It read 282 on the dyno after the exhaust was fitted so it's just about standard in terms of power output.

The European wiring is slightly different but I was able to adapt the Beatsonic harness to permit the installation of an Alpine head unit.

Alpine and Beatsonic. I've always been interested in car hifi.

Prepping the car for the dyno run.

[I]Before adding the double din Alpine I considered using an Ipad air with dash command loaded. Seen here with a few custom gauges working from a wireless scan tool device.

At the moment apart from finishing the rear spoiler, when time permits, I plan to add an amp to drive 2 JL subs. Investigate swapping the steering wheel for one with a leather grip and paddle shift facility and fit a CCD reversing camera.

Looks clean. Are you planning on dropping it?

Yes just a little but the roads, speed humps and ramps in the UK make it impossible to go much lower. Adjustable air suspension is the answer to the problem but it's quite expensive.
