Great DIY! Looked to be fairly easy. I hope to do mine in a couple of months once I get some other minor things taken care of first.

It was more work than I thought, but I work slower these days and my OCD gets the best of me! LoL

This Pioneer AVH-X5700BHS is very cool and has some fantastic feaures, I downloaded the pioneer app radio and app radio live, it allows you to have music and GPS on the radio. It does more and I am still figuring it all out.

BTW, if you have this series radio, make sure you go to the Pioneer website and download the new firmware from Feb 2015. It is very easy and NOTE, after you install the firmware, the radio will reboot, this takes about three minutes and the instructions do not tell you this. I thought my radio was bricked and then it came back to life!

Hey BGW, great write up and install. I see you got the same camera plate (CrimeStopper) as I recommended. I truly hope you coated with some clear coat (front and back) before your install, as I had suggested. Really would hate to see all your hard work not live the test of time due to flaking chrome on the finish.

Hey Shawn, I did as you suggested and I taped off the camera area and painted the entire frame with Rust-Oleum clear coat!.
I ran the wires so that they followed the backup lights, which means the video and power connections are on the outside of the car behind the rear bumper area. I taped the connections really well and then I put heat shrink over them. They should be sealed pretty well, time will tell!

I found this on the BeatSonic website. This mod will allow video in motion on the MFD, multi-function display or the GPS screen.
It makes the car think the parking brake is always applied.

For 2002-2004 SC430s

For 2005-2009 SC430s
http://www.beatsonicusa.com/Instruct...manual_NEW.pdf

see this thread for the results of this mod.

How does the nav screen antenna wire hook up on that pioneer? Only one antenna input.

Yes, only one input unless you purchase a splitter. I did not connect the windshield antenna, only the rear aerial antenna.
But honestly, with all the choices I listen to pandora, I heart and XM.
The commercials are way TOOOOO long on terrestrial radio these days...

Great write up! So, with the BeatSonic, would the Nav screen up top still function normally? Can you also display video on that screen also? And the book with all the instructions, is it the manual for the car? If so, I'd like to get one myself. Thx.
