Anyone have a windshield replaced?

I maybe mistaken then. It was on another thread that I picked up this information. Hence we do not have a different setting on the wiper stalk.

The antenna (FM) is in there. Also part of the windshield if the rear view mirror bracket. All original replacement. There is a technique in installing windshields. Most of the work he did was to refurbish the clips for the outside A pillar trim.
My old windshield has been replaced and it had a PPG OEM. This new one was a PGW (still PPG but it has been re-named) The last installer did a lot of shortcuts on putting back the pillar trim and mainly used glue (hard glue). So he had to work hard in scraping and cleaning them and the trim holder is actually riveted at 3 locations. You have to drill them out and replace them.
I had to pull out a DIY for him to realize that there is a bolt that holds down the outside trim, not merely clips. He was stumped, after the bolt was released it was smooth. He has a lot of spare clips and rivets.
And yes it was $200 because he was doing it on the side and frankly speaking there were very minor blemishes on the windshield (only I can discern them though, hence he probably got the glass with a lot of discount). He actually works for Safelite. Under normal situation, he could get a windshield done in 45 minutes tops. On the SC, he took 2 hours since this is the 1st SC he did.

PGW glass is NOT exactly the same as the OEM
I had my windshield replaced but, the PGW glass is NOT exactly the same as the OEM glass. there is difference, less tinting. Its only a slight difference but I'm not happy with it. It also has the two antenna lines running vertically in the center of the window. Yuck.
Now my rant... they put in in about 1/4 lower than it should be. With in speck I suppose but again, Yuck.
I got a dealer quote for $450 but I don't know if that was for factory glass. I went with a glass company here for $340 so I went this them. I had no idea this would look different when I did this.

I can guarantee you that my 2002 with original glass has the water shedding coating. No rain sensor but the wipers when on delay will stop when the car is stopped and start back up when you start moving forward. I just got a very small crack in my windshield and I am hoping it does not spread for that very reason.
