Default Taking out trim in trunk/maybe good time to install Naviks?

Hi All;

I need to clean the carpet in my trunk. Have spilled automotive fluids on numerous occasions.

The best way to do that is to disassemble each trim item and clean individually. I also have a back up sensor, so I will need to find a hole to fish the wire into the cabin, so I have to remove the trim anyways for the install.

It just occurred to me that I'll need to take apart the trunk when/if I decide to install the Naviks? So maybe this is a good excuse to go ahead and buy Naviks?

Also, do you know what fasteners are used in the trunk? I lost a couple and my trim pieces are not firmly secured..

I purchased two from the dealer, he asked me the color.
It might be a good idea to give the parts guy a shout and he might be able to give you a part number.

Try this link,
http://jp-carparts.com/lexus/partlis...ype=1&fig=6403

It should bring you to a web page with an IPB of the luggage area. The part you want should be $1.30 ea.

I paid $1.50 ea at the dealer. Here is an example. This is the luggage area.

There are different types of fasteners used but all are expensive when purchased individually since you have to add shipping/handling (usually more than the part itself). If you post a pix of what you are looking for, I bet I might have a couple to send you gratis.

I understand the beatsonic is a way overpriced $400 but it is a plug and play harness for installing a better head unit. What exactly are you tiring to do here with the nav/dvd player? I would like to get music from my phone on the stereo but so far I am just getting by with the $20 Monster tape thing.
It may not help much but the carid.com people sold me one for $348, shipped.

That sounds great! I am installing a new head unit, will I still have the steering wheel controls along with the stock GPS?
If so, I am going to cancel the beat sonic and purchase what you are recommending. The beat sonic unit is very expensive and I went with it because I was lead to believe it was the only choice.

I sure am glad you provided me with this info!!! Thanks!

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the Navtool only does backup camera and DVD interface. It's doesn't interface your head unit with the existing system like the Beatsonic, right?

Okay, I am confused now...am I just reading into what you are saying?

Can the device you are using do as many things as the beat sonic? Or are you not sure?
