Steve, nowadays I feel guilty as I am spending more time tinkering with the IS350 than the SC430. It will eventually pass, I believe. The summer is here and it is time to drop the top!

Here are some pictures of the smaller stubby which I think look better. The Tundra antenna base comes with a handy plastic screw to put in place when you remove the stubby, if you park somewhere a lowlife my try and break it off or if like me your SC lives under a cover all winter.
Do you know if the short stubbies will survive a car wash or do you pretty much avoid car washes?

The car has never been near a car wash, even a hand car wash, but I am sure it would survive one. Its pretty secure and easy to take off. Been out today with the top down, great day here today and reception is fine, virtually no loss of signal.
So how much top down weather do you get there Steve? It is trying to turn into summer here in the Dallas area and has probably passed the temperature range that my wife will put up with for top down driving. (My range is a little wider but when it is hot, I often avoid it so I don't smell like I've been in the hot sun once I go inside.)

Well Harold, considering it's June, yesterday was just the third time the hood has been down this year!! The car is not my daily, so I only use it on weekends, but if its 18 degrees C or more then the top is off. Very rare that it is to hot to put the top down here, I envy your weather.

Somehow I doubt that you'd envy the July and August days that commonly hit over 100°F (~38°C).
We usually get a month or two in the spring and fall where top down weather is quite enjoyable though. Often the change to the extreme happens fairly quickly after that.

That's funny because I talk about how many people down here have convertibles, but don't put the top down. As long as it's not raining and over 70 degrees top down for me.

Yeah, it is common here up in DFW also. My temperature range is from about mid 50°F to about 85°F. Above 85°F it all depends on my mood and where I am going. Fortunately we don't have quite the rain issue that you do down in the Houston area but during the spring it does come close. Fall is better but still can make for some emergency roadside stops for a 24 second stop (to raise the top).
....I'm with Harold on this, after about 85, my top is usually up. In the summer 85+ isn't bad, if it is nightime...lol...I work all day out in the sun, so I'm looking for any relief I can get
