Will straight pipe pass emissions by resetting CEL?
I have ppe headers and I love them, but now I have a code for catalyst inefficiency. I'm going through the process of adding spacers and potentially changing out post cat O2 sensors.
If all else fails I plan to just reset my CEL (and go through the drive cycle) when it is time for emissions.
But if I'm going to go through all this hassle, and always have the CEL, can't I just do a straight pipe and delete the cats all together?
Would I still be able to do the same procedure with the OBD2 tool to pass emissions?
What do you all think?

In New York, they connect to the OBD2 plug and check the vehicle for codes. Resetting or clearing the codes just before the state inspection doesn't work. The vehicle will show "Not Ready". If you do the drive cycle with enough start & stops / miles, check with the scanner to see if the Not Ready is gone and there are no "Pending Codes". If you have a window of time / miles between Ready and Pending you might get past the inspection. Depends on how quickly the error code returns.
