Default New head unit install

Well, I bit the bullet today and installed a new Pioneer AVH-X3700BHS head unit w/ Beatsonic adapter and SiriusXM module. A big thanks to vvtiBob's famous DIY!

You guys weren't kidding, that was a TIGHT fit! All went well except..... I failed to reconnect the plug that powers the radio door. DUH! I think I save that one for a rainy day. Just not up to tearing it all back apart right now. The radio sounds great though.

How does the display look with the top down?

(Did you take any pics?)

I haven't been able to view it with the top down in mid-day sun, but the sun is out and I snapped these with my phone. For some reason it looks like there is way more glare than with your naked eyes.

Yeah, I know it's redundant to have a GPS, but I can't part with my Garmin!

Totally glared out in the pic but looks fine in person.

Thanks Bgw! Took me about 3 hours to do, not counting the time it took ahead of time to mate the harnesses. The most time consuming part was routing the XM antenna and mic.

Are there any hard wired connections available for phones? Or is everything blue tooth?

It does both, but has a usb connection for apps like Pandora or other specific apps. It will do Bluetooth audio and hands free calling without requiring a wired connection.

This head in particular has what's called "Siri Eyes Free" which will let you press and hold a button on the head and activate Siri who will answer back through the car speakers.
