Just got my 14cm COB lights and started test fitting and I think Caseoane is absolutely right. I highly recommend anyone undertaking this mod choose the longer 17cm light. It will def make trying to center the light much easier. Just my two cents on a fantastic write up.

I bought the 17cm lights and did this yesterday(thanks Caseoane)
Very easy going in from the back (thanks Shawn).
Just mark out the position and cut away the plastic. I used a fine blade on a Multisaw.
Take your time and cut through the plastic until you get to the existing light. Once the piece is out remove the double sided tape with your fingers(it just rolls off) so you don't damage the white mask on the existing light. Make sure the light is a tight fit. I then taped over it with black insulating tape. Run the wire through the same holes as the existing light and solder the wires to the connector leaving the old wires where they are. Job done.
Cheers

Finished my mod! Respect to Caseoane for lighting a fire under my **** to get me to complete this mod rather than leave the spare door sill sitting in my corner behind the recliner. The light is crazy bright! Seriously blurs out the photos but def draws the attention I wanted. Already getting compliments from people and valets, I chose white to match most of the other updated LED's that are completed (and proposed later) as you can clearly tell. Glad to have this completed! Took a few shots with the new anthracite interior wrap too!
