Default Technique for removing interior A pillar trim?

Do the interior A pillar trim pieces come out just
by pulling at the top ?

Yes just pull it out at the top they are help in by clips

so no screws ? What holds the trim in place near the
dash ?

Be careful! I broke one of the drivers side clips when i was installing my radar detector. Now it just hangs by one clip and has to sit inside the rubber gasket to hold in place.

What happens with mine when I remove them (I've had the driver's side A-pillar trim piece off multiple times) is that the trim piece comes out (pull out the top part, then the bottom part slips up-and-out), but the metal retainer clips stay with the car (embedded into a couple of notches in the metal frame of the A-pillar itself).

So, I have to remove the clips from the notches, slide them back onto the inside of the trim piece, then re-install it (snaps back into place).
