Painting the shifter panel was more difficult, as i had to first "mask off" the P-R-N-D-4-3-2-L icons by covering each icon with translucent scotch tape (NOT masking tape) and then use a razor blade to cut around each letter, effectively leaving tape ONLY on the icons. So when painting, the paint won't cover the icons. Also, forgo the priming and wet-sanding on this part. Just bake the paint and the bond will be permanent. When dry, peal the tape off of the icons, and you're done! Painting the coin holder cover was a slow process because it requires a lot of careful masking (this time with real masking tape) to avoid paint going inside the velvet area, etc.
"
missed that. Thanks!

Model builders use a liquid masking fluid.

"It works very well with complex areas Can be sprayed, brushed or rolled on......Score with a new X-acto knife and peel off areas to be painted (thin areas won't peel)"

I wanted to update everyone on the status of my project. I've now converted the entire front-end to the '06-'10!!
I bought all of the parts NEW from various sources, and believe me there are a TON of tiny parts that need to be purchased to fit everything together. Contrary to what some others have said RE: which parts can be transferred over, one truly needs to get most of the '06'-'10 parts to make everything fit right.
I also converted the updated headlight ballasts/bulbs from D4S to D2S so i could use my favorite HID bulb, the Philips 6000k Ultinon. The D4S version is terrible in terms of intensity and color.
The parts that you'll need to get:
-'06-'10 front bumper (which you'll need to take to a body shop to paint to your paint code)
-'06-'10 headlight washer nozzles w/ re-paint (the '02-'05 will "fit" but won't be effective due to the aim of the stream)
-'06-'10 headlights
-'06-'10 headlight "components" (rear covers, turn signal & wedge bulb sockets, new size bulbs, conversion plugs for directionals)
-'06-'10 center grille (with the L logo on it)
-'06-'10 L logo badge
-'06-'10 fog light brackets (the old ones don't fit properly and will result in headlight nozzle covers failing to retract flush with bumper)
-'06-'10 all of the chrome moldings that fit around the fog lights and the U shaped one around grille (total of 4 of them)
-'06-'10 all of the "clips/screws" such as those that hold the chrome U piece to bumper, etc. About 50% of old clips/bolts/screws do NOT fit.
And that's about it!
What do you think?? Please comment!
-'06-'10

Great job!!!
Notice that you have an GS as well, wondering if the outside rear view mirrors with turn indicators on them, would they somehow be able to fit the SC with modification? or if possible to just bolt on( I doubt it)? You of all people should be able to find out, right?!
