I bought an 02 {silver over saddle) in april. 103,000 for 16K and change after tax title lic, etc. etc. etc. i had a clear carfax, all service records, and the vehicle had a couple surface scratches, and a few scratches on the wheel edges. The interior looked as if it had been replaced ( it was orig). I also was concerned about a 12 year old car with higher miles than yours, ( soon to be?). But I read everything I could find and decided to pull the trigger. Oh my, what a car ! The fit and finish is better than any mercedes or porsche I've owned, and because it's a Lexus, EVERYTHING works. In my opinion, you won't regret getting this car. the longer i have the more it impresses me. SOOOOOO . . . . In advance . . . . CONGRATULATIONS !

I just bought an 02' with 121k with ALL the recent maintenance done. The car has $5k in new 19" rims and tires, muffler & exhaust modifications, custom new paint, new high end suspension, lowered, luxlink, spare kit, too much mods to list. Car is a 10 exterior and an 8 interior and I paid $17,500. I shopped for 6 months before buying this one. I also know of an 05' Peeble Beach black and red with 55k miles sell for $21500, it was on autotrader. I found many 02's with 70-120k miles that were priced all day long in the $11-16k range. I would shop craigslist in all the big cities, ebay, autotrader etc. BTW I had a friend who buys cars at auction that recent saw 3 different 02-04 sc430 sell between $7k-11k. So they are out there, be patient and buy what you want in your price range. Good luck...

I bought a 2007 back in 2012 (so it would be like buying an '09 now) with 11K miles on it for $31K. I know that's a bit more, but it was essentially a brand new car. With that, you get the 2006 mid model refresh which included much more attractive wheels than the pie plates, more contemporary front bumper, six speed auto(better fuel economy), adaptive xenons, high res nav, and several dozen more minor differences. I know $10K seems like a lot more, but if you consider just for $30K, you could be a 2006+ that is almost new with 60K fewer miles on it and little chance of abuse and service holes, it was a no brainer for me.

There are several examples of 2008's on auto trader with 17K miles for $28K.

Congrats on your purchase. This is just the start of your love affair. I don't know what your weather is like where you live, but I think the SC is the perfect Southern California car and mine gets used any day where it doesn't rain where (unfortunately) that's pretty much every day. There is nothing like a top-down drive along side the ocean-ain't life great!!

Enjoy!!!!!
