there is a forum member by the name of Bill that is selling his Pebble Beach 07' MINT with only 2500 asking 31k. White w/red interior. That 06' red is a good buy in the low $20's.

Tinshield is correct. This car will not last long with 12,642k for $33,209.00. Would it be a "Good buy in the low $20's?" Hahaha. Yes... Yes it would. Will it happen in this lifetime? Negative. As for Bill and his '07 PB with 2500k for $31k... I believe he could command a higher price than that even. He must want to liquidate it quickly.

We've reached a point where the market will drive the price rather than "book value" of low mileage SCs. All PBs and the 2008-10 , in particular will command a steep price especially when they're low mileage. I've seen '02s go for $10k, while mine went for $22k just a few months ago. I bought it in 08 for $26k with only 23k miles on it and it had 42k when I sold it. I put 18k miles on it during that time and it cost me $4k for those years. Less than $1k/year.

On the other hand, my 2010 cost $39k or a difference $17k. Even though the two look similar, they are vastly different. I've seen 08 and 09s go for more than what I paid for my 2010. You can check my signature for what those changes are. If you like your SC and you're happy with the price paid, that's all that matters. I consider myself lucky that I found what it's like to own an SC when I bought my 02. Now that I'm educated in the way of the SC, I consider myself really fortunate to be one of those souls who found a 2010.

I agree completely! I own a 2009 PB that I discovered a year ago at a local Porshe dealer. It had been traded on a Panamara, and had 9K miles. It was absolutely flawless inside and out, and while the $41K price was steep, I really wanted to find an SC430 that was as near new as possible, and this one fit the bill.

I see very low mile 2009-2010s on Autotrader every now and then, but it seems like they are all in the upper 40s-mid 50s (asking price, anyway). I've had my SC430 for almost a year, and have put roughly 2K miles on it. I plan on keeping it showroom fresh for as long as possible. I use my 2008 Lexus LS600hL as my "daily driver" and only take the SC out on sunny warm evenings with my bride (of 28 years).

Only time will tell how well the later SCs hold their value. I don't plan on selling mine anytime soon...

My reason for this theory is that both PBs and these SC model years are very low production years. In 2002 there were about 25k SCs sold. In 2010 there were 329. Supply and demand.

The OP is simply informing the forum that there is a low mileage 06 for sale. Does anybody ever pay a dealership what they're asking for on any car, new or used? Of course not, so why the big discussion about the car being overpriced. This car will probably sell in the very high $20's to someone who will get a fantastic car for the same price as a mid level Honda Accord. Asking price is alway irrelevant..

I purchased this car over the weekend. As stated, for sure. The car is perfect and has no marks. I have an appt to have a clear bra, bumper, mirrors and door handle wells.done. It is so clean I believe this is worth it at $800. Garage kept with a cover. Traded a 2002 black/camel with 61,000 miles.

Congratulations... Photos please... If you don't mind sharing, what did you pay for it? I am thinking about selling mine and I am trying to see what the market is for an 06 PB with 24K.

Congratulations on your new acquisition MEMCNULTY! I knew it wouldn't stay on the showroom floor past the weekend. Would you please share with the class how you were able to "seal the deal" in the low $20's... As stated above... Hahaha! (Rolling around pounding the living room floor with my fists with laughter whilst wiping a tear from the corner of my eye...). Sigh... We would all love to hear your negotiating tactics I'm sure. All kidding aside, I'm happy the 'Torch' got past on to another caring owner. ENJOY!

The way dealers negotiate there are 2 deals with a trade. Buying and selling your trade to the dealer.

The only number that matters is the difference paid between. The 2 cars.

On the contract I once bought a new Nissan 300zx for $5000 over MSRP, but they offered me $10,000 more for my trade in than it was worth. The dealer gets to exaggerate gross sales that way.

Primo, very low mileage, beautiful cars like this are very hard to find and are worth a premium. My Mattahorm Red 2008 SC430 turns heads and gets complements every time.

Sadly, I'm painfully aware of how the negotiating process works as I was a manager at a local Mercedes Benz/ Porsche/ Audi dealership in town. 'Was' being the operative word here. I was merely being flippant toward the remark made by 'Throw' that this '06 with 12,642mi listed for $33,209.00 newly purchased by Forum Member MEMCNULTY, could possibly be had for the "Low 20's". I realize of course that "Primo, very low mileage, beautiful cars" as you stated are worth a premium. That is why I made the humorous remark to please explain his negotiating tactics on how he bought the car in the "Low $20's". Lol. Which I am certain, he did not. Just making light of the situation in a humorous way is all. No harm intended. Names will be changed to protect the "Guilty". Haha! To state an example, I'm currently staring at a '06 with 15,109mi on the clock, finished in Matador Red Mica for $36,991.00. Followed closely by another '06 with 15,350mi. for $36,780.00 finished in the same color. I've seen them priced higher than that actually for the same year. I currently enjoy a 2008 SC430 with 5,600mi on it and can assure other members I did not get "A deal" on it. Lol. After 8 months of searching for the perfect one, I was more than willing to pay a premium however, and welcome it into my 'Lexus Stable'. Any information from MEMCNULTY and his new acquisition would be welcome and forthcoming... Thank you for your attention regarding this matter.

Yes, low 20's was not reasonable.

Look at recent Manheim Dealer Auction for prices paid, 2006 SC430s, over the last 3 weeks. THESE ARE ACTUAL DEALER ACTION PRICES.

Blue, 24.7k miles $24,500
Silver 46.8k miles, $25,000
Black 37.7k miles $26,500

These prices are before auction fees, transportation costs, commissions and reconditioning costs. These cars will need to sell about $4,000 more than auction cost for them to be profitable to a dealer.

A Pristine 2006 with about 12,000 miles would command a premium price.

My wife's immaculate 2007 was bought 18 months ago with 14,000 miles. It now has 18,000 miles and it looks, drives and smells new.

Indeed. I remember when you purchased your wife's SC430. Nice car. My favorite pic is of both of them parked in tandem on the driveway. Tell me though JR, do you miss the LS460 just a little?
