Biggest headache is cleaning up the mating surfaces for the pan gasket (use a NEW gasket or you will be sorry!).

This mod looks very doable. I will have to do this on my back though with ramps and carefully placed jack stands. I assume I need to use OEM Toyota Fluid (WS Grade)? If OEM ATF is not available, do you have any other suggestions? Is it 5 or 6 quarts to refill through the dipstick after dropping the pan? I'll make sure to buy to a new gasket!

Any downside or consequence in doing it? Should i understand that by making this adjustment, it won't change the slow throttle response but will making the down shifting a bit quicker?

So just turn the green arrow and not to touch the red?

Yep, just push in and adjust the "Green" screw (it's called the "Primary Regulator Valve" in the diagram), don't mess with the Red valve. According to Talwang's diagram (post #12), that's the lockup control valve....

I ask toffee's question again as I'm seriously considering this.
Any downside or consequence in doing it?
No tranny noise while driving? Any gas mileage change?
Or just a great positive mod.
I'm torn between that Lexus factory set to soft, however they allow adjustment assuming that firm does no tranny damage.

they must want the shift as soft as possible this is the thinking of all car companies to get a soft shift the trans must slip only way. a trans that shift fast is better for the trans that's why they have shift kits for all trans. fast shift less ware. most people would not like a shift kit in their cars. I have rebuilt many trans in my day. that's the best ans I can give you. when I raced my vett. it would almost bang in to gear. well done up shift kit.
just so you all know this is not a shift kit mod.
