Default Update on the 2010 SC 430

Just got home from Luxury Motorworks! YES, Luxlink DOES work on my 2010. The best mod works-yes! Double touch the top switch and no longer holding the button. Also, I can now put top up or down via remote control.

Steve, the owner of Luxury Motorworks and inventor of Luxlink says that there is no way you can hook up a backup camera because it is now a HDD Nav rather than DVD based. I also checked with NavTool who says its true that the NavTool will not work with some 2010 SCs and others it will work on, but they could not tell me why or if you can tell which ones it will work on. Steve says there is no longer any place you can hook up NavTool to. On the other hand I have another audio installer who uses something other than NavTool that will allow a plug and play camera, so I will check that out further.

Steve also pointed out to me that Beatsound now makes a patch that will allow the DVD changer and Nav to work while the SC is in motion. I already contacted them and will be picking it up this week.

Monday, my wheels go in for chroming, while the SC itself goes to the body shop for a couple of weeks to repair hail damage. They will be replacing the hood and repairing and repainting the roof and trunk lid. The fenders will be blended. My insurance company agreed with the body shop that there are way to many dents to repair. Estimated to be more than 100 in the hood. Estimate from body shop is $4300 while the insurance company says it will be $4700. While I'm disappointed with the body condition, I have faith in my body shop. This car IS a dream to drive and the electronics are absolutely cool. Loving it!!!

You can also try the people at OneWayAutoSports, who sell NAVIKS. They were really knowledgeable on my 2002 media project mod. They don't really update their webpage but will always talk shop on the phone about any concerns or questions (presale or technical). I highly recommend them to confirm your situation since their Ebay ad shows that the 2010 is compatible. They also have a solid return policy just in case things don't work out.

Pics of the old with the now:

White: 2002 purchased by me in 2008. All service receipts since new. Luxlink, Pioneer head unit with DVD, bluetooth, and nav, and IS wheels. Still under Mercury transferable zero deductable until June 2015 or 99k miles. Purchased with 24k miles-currently has 41k miles. It will be up for sale in about a month.

Red: 2010 purchased 2 weeks ago. Paid 39k with 27k miles on it. I wish it was treated as well as my 02! Body will soon have a facelift. Wheels will be sent out to be chromed, while body shop does its magic. Love driving it.

Thanks, Shawn. If my installer doesn't work out, I'll check them out.

Yup, My second choice would be the red you bought and I'd probably buy it first if it had been a 2010 as you got!
Good job!

John,

I never thought I'd like a better color combination than my red/ecru but I have to admit your red/camel is the nicest color combo I've ever seen on an SC430. What a rare find.

If you ever came across another 2010 in that color combo shoot me a PM.

I actually prefer ecru, except it is high maintenance to maintain and shows wear faster, For that reason, I'd rather have camel. Thats especially true since I intend on owning the car a very long time.

The cars are looking good Solman... Can't wait to see the '10 when it's done! I'm happy your LuxLink worked perfectly. I still think you should keep the white one as well...

Beautiful car, no doubt about it. Congratulations and welcome to the RED world.

FLYCT,
Quick internet search has at least this, however older at 2006, but is shows that the combo is out there.http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1
Good luck.

Here you go:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/clu...xus-150-a.html

It only lists the SC for 2010, among other Lexus models.

Good luck.
That is an "Absolutely Red" like yours. Starting in 2007 Lexus introduced "Matador Red Mica"
