I have 4 new tires on the original SC430 wheels. The tires are 245/40-18.

Will these 4 tires fit all 4 wheels from a 2006 IS350?

Also, do I need spacers on the new wheels to 'fill' out the wheel well on the SC430?

My car is a 2002 SC430 with standard 'pie plate' wheels. The donor car is a 2006 IS350.

I haven't bought the IS wheels yet, and would like more info before spending the time and money.

What size are the tires on the IS350?

They are 225/40 and 255/40 both 18"

I'm not sure why you'd want to change out to those tires since they really won't offer you much difference. You could ask a tire shop if they'd fit. I'm guessing that you'll have more problems getting the smaller tires to fit than the larger ones.

However, if you do change to those tires, your speedometer/odometer will no longer be accurate.

What are you trying to do here?

...the tires will fit with no problem & shouldn't have any speedo issue either, since both sets are 18 inch & 40 series. Now by putting the 245's on the IS wheels, you'll lose a little bit of width on 1 set, by exchanging the 255's for the 245's. I would probably mount them on the car & see how they look/fit. This will help determine what size spacer you would want to purchase.Right off hand, I don't know the offset of the IS wheel, but I think some here have made the same wheel exchange, so hopefully they will chime in

Let me re-phrase;
I have 4 new tires, 245/40R18, mounted on original SC430 wheels. The wheels are tired and look old style.

I want to spice up the car's appearance, and have found 4 IS350 wheels with bad tires.

Can I take my 4 new tires from the original wheels and mount them on the IS rims, then mount the IS rims on my SC430?

It would probably be easier to just ask Lexus or call Sewell about that.

texsexlex, yes the tire difference would make a difference because while the wheel size is the same, the sidewalls will have different heights, thus making the circumference different. With a different circumference, there will be a different number of turns per mile of the tires, making the speedo inaccurate, maybe slight but inaccurate.

Tires will fit without a problem

There will be NO speedo correction needed, the IS's wheels are 8 in wide in the front and 8.5 in the rear so you will not notice or feel anything different, the tires that you have will work with zero problems

you will need spacers to push the wheels out, almost all OEM Lexus/Toyota wheels have very high offsets that will cause them to sit sunken in.
I would suggest to research and see what other members have gone with as far as spacer sizing.

I would probably suggest 15-20mm HUB CENTRIC spacers, please do not go cheap on the spacers, these are not parts that you want to skimp on.

You can/should calculate what size spacers you will need by measuring the distance from where the rim will end and the fender lip begins.

Thanks for the contributions to all. Attached is a photo of the wheel set I'm purchasing to install on the SC430. From the photo, can you agree a 20mm spacer would work (I don't have the SC430 at home, it's in the shop, otherwise I'd measure the wheel thickness).

Bought this SC430 last week. Drove it for 45 minutes, and it's been in the shop since. Nothing major, but having o2 sensor, TPMS work and some small trim work completed. Can't wait to get her home!

Yes sir, that is correct. The sidewall ratio is based on the width. So in the case of a 240 width and a 40 ratio, the sidewall height is 40% of the 240 width. So if the ratio remains the same and the width changes, so does the height. (At least, that is how I understand it to be. I'll have to do some checking to confirm that now that you challenge it.)
