I personally think thats way to high, but then again I never take my cars to the dealer.

Would you be comfortable taking your car to a reputable mechanic?

What I usually do is buy my own OEM parts then give it to my mechanic to replace.

you could get everything you have mentioned above for $600 max.

thanks for the reply everyone....I double checked everything and I found out that the 60K mile service that everyone is mentioning does not include
Spark Plug Change and Timing Belt Changes. These two services alone are equal to or way over that $600.00 price for a NORMAL 60K Mile Service.

So I think Spark Plug Change and a Timing Belt Change plus including everything in the 60K Mile Service for $1300 is a good deal.

I also checked that the 60K mile service does not include Differential fluid change.....and the price they gave me includes it.

anyone.......?

I didn't keep either of my SC430s that long (60K mi.) but, for what it's worth, I did change the timing belt on my SC400 when I owned that car and that service cost me $750 at the time. So, I would agree that with the timing belt change, $1300 seems to be in the ball park. My question, however, is whether the "normal" 60K mi. service should include the timing belt change.

I owned a 1992 SC 400 and the timing belt was changed at 60,000. I would think the SC 430 would be the same. I sold my Lexus car as it approached 120,000 because it was going to cost me $2000 for the 120,000 mile service plus the car needed tires and likely brakes. It was going to run me just short of $4000 to get the car into shape. Time to walk away. JEH

Please verify that price again with the dealer. I doubt they're going to change your timing belt and service your spark plugs for 1300.

Why replace valve cover gaskets if its not leaking?

Who checks valve clearance on modern cars today?

I highly doubt that would even do this.

I do ths on my Honda and Yamaha dirt bikes not a 50k car!

YES, I double checked again with the dealer, it is a 60K Mile Service PLUS the Spark Plug Change and Timing Belt for $1315.00 with tax.

Spark Plug Change and Timing Belt LABOR hrs alone are highly priced, so I think I got a great deal.

Timing belt and water pump (including related items like front crank shaft seal and thermostat) are on a 90K or 6 year service schedule

I believe that the 60K service is simply the 2nd occurrence of the 30K service.

i think you got a decent deal from a dealer, if it included everything posted, how old is the car, usually if the car is older but still is under the mileage for a t-belt they do it because of age, same with serpentine or v-belts.
