Anyone in So. Florida done mods???
After seeing some of the hot SC430s in ClubLexus, I ordered AutoCouture front and rear lip spoilers from Steve G. at Carson Toyota. Prior to ordering, I contacted my Lexus service advisor at Lexus of Pembroke Pines to see if they would install. He didn't want to get involved in any aspect and immediately referred me to Pines Body Shop.
Before ordering the parts, I contacted Pines Body Shop to make sure they could install. I was told over the phone "No problem. Just have them shipped to us. We'll paint and install." This morning, I stopped in to meet them in person and let them know exactly when the parts were arriving. The guy I spoke to on the phone was on vacation, so another advisor got involved. He said they "normally don't do these installations" because they don't want to be responsible for potentially ill-fitting aftermarket parts. He said, "Will they already be painted?" When I told him Carson Toyota suggested they paint them because they would be a better match, he said, "they will never be a perfect match. You can see that even the side sills don't exactly match the bumpers." (I don't see that, but whatever.) All in all, he was very negative about doing the job and just handed my business card back to the receptionist.
Obviously, I'm a little nervous at this point. I know they are a reputable body shop because they did some work for me on my GS after an accident. However, I feel as if I've gone out on a limb paying good $$$ for parts that they have no interest in installing.
Any advice? Anyone living in So. Florida who's had a good experience trying something similar? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well, guess the answer to my original question would be a resounding NO! Guess the rest are quite content to leave well enough alone. That's fine. To each his own!

don't worry
just find a good body shop in florida that back their work with warranty, and just follow instructions if they come in. its just paint and polyurithane...like any other car they have done.
