Default 2002 SC430 front 02 sensor replaced with $75 aftermarket...

We just replaced the front 02 sensor in my dad's 2002 SC430 with this aftermarket one. Direct plug and play. $75 shipped

http://www.am-autoparts.com/Lexus/SC...tm_content=EOS

I know lot of folks have used generic Bosch ones and splice the wires, but this is a very inexpensive alternative and it truly looks exactly like the old factory Lexus one

Thought I'd share just in case anyone ever runs in to the same problem

Thanks for the info. This is a great find!

I did the two downstream sensors and spliced them. Hated doing it but that's all I could find at the time. Paid $600 for the two front cause I didn't have time or know how to route the wires.

Well guess I'll know better 10 yrs from now when I need them again!

Careful on these cheap aftermarket ones, I bought a cheap chineese one put it in, and it still tossed a code, I bought a NGK one, and works perfect.

The Denso sensors are only about $90.00 on Amazon. Why try something else for $15.00?

I have to agree with Jay87T and iolmaster, if there is one thing I will not buy aftermarket, it's sensors. I had a past experience on another vehicle where I purchased the less expensive aftermarket sensor that lasted less than a week and was not able to get a refund. I then purchased the more expensive OEM sensor and never had a problem afterward.

With that said, I do hope you have good luck with your aftermarket sensor(s).

Default Trying to do right

I am trying to change the rear sensor on the driver side on my wife's 02 but have not been successful in finding the plug on the other end. I think I am chaseing it into the cabin and have to pull the rug. I am wondering if its in the center console; should I remove it? Does anyone know or have an image where the plug is located? I have been reviewing some post but have ssen more on cutting than instrutions or diagrams on were to go. Lost under the rug...

Here's another source for the air/fuel and O2 sensors. These are the Denso OEM sensors: http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/200...en_sensor.html

I used them as a source for my '09 Tundra. I've learned to replace the upstream plus the downstream sensors at the same time. Each can cause the other to throw a check engine light.
