Default 03' SC430 NOS Install

I am about 80% complete on a NOS install on a 2003 SC430. Using progressive controller, fuel pressure safety switch and window switch for safety. I ran into two issues and in spite of several forum searches for the appropriate answers I'm at a dead end.

1. On which wire (by color or accompanied by a diagram if possible) on the throttle position sensor should I install the wide open throttle switch?

2. I also need to know which wire (by color or accompanied by a diagram if possible) carries the tachometer signal on the coil/igniter.

I saw a thread from SC430 Blue that suggests he had the answer and did the same install, but the link ended without the answers I needed. Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you have any pictures of your install? This would be very interesting to see and have more information on what system and components you are chosing.

I read in a thread here on CL and they were talking about a brown wire at the throttle sensor, but that was on a IS. So i dont know what wire it is on our SC's. But maybe its possible to find out with a multimeter and see what wire increase and decrease when pedal is on/off?

I also saw the post with the brown wire reference, but when I put a multi-meter on the brown wire I did not note any change in voltage with changes in the throttle, so I lost confidence this was the right wire.

I will take a few pics in the morning to document where I am and more when I finally figure out where to go from here. If I don't get any forum answers, I think the next step is to buy a Lexus mechanic lunch.

I'm attaching some pics of the TPS and coil to help identify the wires. I'm also attaching some pics of the solenoid wiring for my install. The last pic is of an access port I created using a marine access cover so I could access the rear K Sport strut adjustments - thought some might find this last pic interesting.

Let's try again. Apparently the file size was too large on my last post.

You can get a Tach signal inside the SC430. It is a Black/Yellow wire at Pin 9 of the OBD2 diagnostic connector.

The only added labor between wet and dry is tapping the fuel rail end cap which only took ten minutes to do. Adding NOS without fuel will cause detonation. Wet kits are much safer because the risk of running lean is far reduced.

Looks good.

I was also thinking about takin fuel from the fuel rail. What parts did you use to fit that? Any pics?

Would be nice with an extra 70-100 hp with a push of a button :-P

This looks very interesting Pepster, look forward to hearing what it does for performance.

I did similar to you for access to the shocks when I fitted my air, used a 4" drain pipe blanking end.
A marine access cover sound far more upmarket than a drain pipe. lol

Best regards
Steve

So I guess I'm reviving an ancient thread but I recently discovered a video (linked below) and am very interested in adding NOS to my 2002 SC430. As some of you might know from my previous threads, I'm in Louisiana and this place, Cold Fusion Nitrous, is not too far away. Since they have experience with adding a Dry Kit to the SC430 in the past, I was thinking of going with them. I truly know nothing about NOS but the idea does interest me. They are quoting me at $1k for everything including a Purge Valve/Kit and a 5lb bottle that I would mount in the spare tire cubby. Additonally, I have a Weapon R Secret Weapon Short Ram Cold Air Intake. Does anyone forsee any problem with adding a dry kit with it? Not sure about any of the pros/cons of wet vs dry or even if any true damage can occur from adding NOS, but want to get everyone's thoughts on the issue. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.

Oh.. i also have a SpintBooster Electonic Throttle Control... any problem with using this with the NOS? Probably not a good idea to use NOS at the same time as the SprintBooster, right?

So how does the car know to add more fuel running that dry kit?
