Garage Door Opener Suddenly Stops Working
I have a 2005 SC 430 with two of the three garage door openers programmed. One for my fixed code community gate and one for my floating code garage. Suddenly, my lexus will not open my garage door. Here are some facts:
1. I successfully programmed both (with no problems) and they have worked for a year and a half without incident.
2. The fixed code gate still opens fine as it always has. Only my garage will not open.
3. My other hand held garage door openers open my garage fine.
4. I have tried reprogramming the lexus button several times but to no avail. I am VERY confident that I am doing the programming correctly.
Before I take the vehicle to lexus and spend a fortune I thought I would ask the experts on the Lexus forum.
Any advice?

Just to reiterate the programming instructions
Press and hold the button you wish to program for 20 seconds
The red LED should begin blinking at a rapid rate of 1Hz
Hold the door's remote within an inch of the Homelink button and press the transmit button for about 10 seconds
(Some transmitters only broadcast for a couple of seconds so you may have to do this a couple of times in the 10 second window)
If programming is successful the LED will slow the blink rate to 5.6 hertz
Since your manufacturer remote is working and the separate button for the gate code is too, I suspect the switch. If I understood you correctly one button is unused. A way to test this would be to use the button which is NOT programmed.

I think you did step 1 but not step 2.
Step one = program the car Homelink with a working existing remote
Step two = program the garage opener receiver to Relearn the Homelink
Check the garage door opener instructions. The way mine works is that I hit a little red button on the back of the garage door motor unit which lights up a red light near the button. This puts the opener in the learn mode. Then within 30 seconds i go to the car and push the Homelink button programed for the garage. The garage opener light bulbs blink twice signifying that it has relearned the car Homelink button.
I just searched and found a link that describes it better

Try this and let us know if it works for you.

In my case, Button 1 was dead for some reason. Button 2 worked like a charm. # 3 is unused. Try using the other buttons as well.

Press and hold the two outside buttons for 20 seconds the LED should start flashing. This should clear all existing codes. Do not hold the buttons down for more than 30 seconds per the manufacturer instructions. Homelink reset instructions.
And I did read what you said...but just is case: http://www.homelink.com/program/video

All,
I have a problem in the the homelink suddenly stopped working in my 2004 RX 330. I don't think I have power to the home link...the little red light does not flash. Thinking it may be a bad fuse but everything else on the car seems to be working fine. Any suggestions?
