Just ordered TEIN Type CS coilovers! (To Mods: Not a supension thread!)
Just ordered TEIN Type CS coilovers! Will let you know how they feel/make the car look. 19" SSR GT3 (8.5" front/10" in back) are on there now and there is a significant wheel gap. I looked into getting Eibach springs and found out that they are planning on not making them for the SC430... getting coilovers is a better plan anyway.
Does anyone have any clue where I could get pics of the TOM'S bodykit? (not just the sideskirts) I found out that I can get the whole kit for $3495.00, and $1250.00 for just the skirts. What is a good place to get this and other kits? (AutoCouture, Wald)
Thanks,
Drew.

Drew,
Send SUPRATRD a PM and he will be able to source you the Tom's kit.. To be honest thou the Tom's kit does nothing for me.. Look at getting the full AC bumper replacements and use the Tom's side skirts.. The Wald kit from the pics I have seen isn't too bad but with your car lowered on the Teins you would destroy the body kit since it looks like it hangs really low.. The Tein CS's are nice but why didn't you go with the Flex.. The pillowball mounts on the Flex and dual lowering make it a better choice for not too much more.. Anyways just my 2 cents!
Hope that helps!

What size tires do you have on that? YOu are going to be cutting pretty close with 10" rear rims and then by dropping it more. Wont be a problem with the suspension as it is lowered too. All I know is I have 19x9.5" rims and 295's on the rear and I swear, you cant fit your finger in the gap between the tire and the car.

Is the Flex even available for the SC430? Here is the fitment list and I can't find it on there: http://www.tein.com/lexus.html

Drew,
Sorry about that I should of specified that the GS Tein Flex work with no problems on the SC430.. That is what Genearch and myself are using on our SC430's..
LexusSC430,
295 on a 9.5" wheel don't you get a bulgy looking wheel.. On my 19 X 9.5 I am running a 275/30/19 and you get a nice vertical sidewall.. On the SC430 you can go as much as a 10.5" rear wheel with the correct offset and if memory serves me correct someone has done an 11" rear wheel..

Whoops, I made a mistake on the back there is 10.5" rims. The tire sizes are as follows: 245/35 on front, and 275/30 on back. Thinking about going 285/35 to get a thicker sidewall. (They are Falken Potenzas.) I checked into swapping the Type CSs for the Flexs and they said "the Type CSs have pillowball mounts too, they are basically labelled differently for the different models..."
Anyway, thanks for your help.

Just spoke with TEIN and they said the major difference between the FLEX and the Type CS is that the Type CS will tend to ride better. The FLEX, however, will be easier to adjust and the piston length is greater. (There's also the option for the EDFC, which most say isn't worth getting anyway.) Both come with rubber pillow mounts. In addition to this, the FLEX for the GS430 wasn't meant to be put on the SC430 (the SC430 fitment is still in developement).
The ride factor (let alone the lack of fitment for the FLEX) is reason enough to stick with the Type CS.
Drew.

Sorry, I don't. It's pretty much at the lowest. Any lower and it would rub. I'll take a few close up pics and post tomorrow.
