Default What offset for 18" wheels?

I've read the wheel fitment guide, but it's mostly about 19" and 20" wheels. I know stock offset is +45, but a lot of you seem to prefer the wheel to be more flush with the fender. So what's a good offset for aftermarket 18 x 8 rims? I'm guessing maybe a +35 or +40 would work. I want to stick with 18" since my tires are pretty new.

Thanks in advance

You can go much more aggressive than that without any rubbing. +20 should be pretty safe.

If you are using the stock wheels with +45 offset, your effective offset with the spacers is +26.

Thanks for the replies, I'll keep it mind when looking at wheels.
