This is an older link, but it may be a more cost effective solution it's the first and fourth post in the the thread. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...mp-repair.html Could be worth a call.

Default 2005 Lexus SC430 - Stereo in Dead (I believe)

After having my car detailed and I was about to replace the bent antenna. I turned on the car and tried to turn on the stereo but it was totally dead - no lights etc. I followed the instructions to get into the service menu and it shows the AUDIO H/U = No Connection. Not sure if the unit failed - perhaps caused by the detailer, or perhaps just loose wiring harness (will try checking that when I can get some time). Any suggestions on an easier way to check if it's dead or just disconnected? Here's what I got from the service diagnostics.

keep it simple, check the fuses first...the owners manual will show the locations and list.

Thanks - I should have mentioned I did already check the fuses - both of the ones related to the stereo (#46 and #24) and they appeared good.

i don’t have my wiring diagram with me to look for any other fuses but two sounds correct.
if the head unit has power...then I guess it could be a connection, which would odd.

Be sure to measure the fuses, not just inspect them. They can blow but still "appear" to be okay. Just use a voltmeter and make sure that 12 V is getting to both sides.

No sound - No heat. So that could be one explanation why the fan isn't coming on.

You can get the head unit to do a self test to see what error codes are coming up so it will may you which part(s) may have failed.

If you look at one the pictures I attached you can clearly see the display, head unit, and Gateway (hub) are all fine but the AMP is not sending a reply - so is dead.

I've also attached the service menu 'hack' you need to do to get into it.

Would also be worth checking your ML Amp serial/model number to see if it was one of a dodgy batch Lexus installed.
Hi there,
I am in a similar predicament and I have tried to activate the self diagnosis screen on my 2004 SC430, I have tried the steps by getting to the display screen and trying to tap the screen 3 times but nothing pops up? Any suggestions please?
Thanks, Thomas
