Tail Light Tinting - A Semi New Idea
Friends,
Like many here, I have a 2002 - 2005 SC430 which has the older style (non-LED) rear lights. The orange turn signal lens in the rear truly ruins the look of the tail light. I was seriously considering having the rear lights tinted red by a tint shop ($80), but I realized that this would make the rear of the car look 'cheap' by taking away all the multi-layered texture that the light contains and replacing it with one solid red color (I ruled out black taillight tint due to visibility and law enforcement concerns).
So my idea now is to purchase a red colored rear light tint kit, and then cut out a circle from the tint and ONLY apply the red CIRCLE to the rear light where the orange part is. Ideally, this would remove the ugly orange part by covering it with red film, but leave the rest of the rear light untouched.
I found another thread (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/5152425-post18.html) which shows LiquidSC's entire rear light lights tinted red. I think it's a cool look, but I feel it makes the back of the car seem less luxury and more economy import-esque (no offense, LiquidSC, just my personal opinion).
Please share your thoughts this idea.

No offense taken. The tint is translucent, so you still see the interior of the lights. It probably won't look good if you only tint over the amber. The tint is a darker shade of red, so it won't match. And I suspect it would obvious that you stuck something on your lights.
