Default About to get new wheels and tires

I have read the guides and offset charts ( thanks!) etc but would like some confirmation.

I just lowered 1" and am really tired of the oem wheels. The front looks better with stock wheels but the rear still looks goofy. I like the Forgestar F14's 19" 35 mm offset - I dont see lower offsets for our lug pattern. Thinking of going staggered with 8.5" Front and 10" Rear.

Any reason to do 9.5" for the rear?

Looking at Conti DWS at tirerack. Recommended sizes for the 8.5 and 9.5 are 245/35/19 and 275/30/19.

If I go wider, from reading here, it seems like I get a smoother ride and better protection for the rims against pot holes etc. For example 255/35 and 285/30.

The 255 width looks marginal for the 8.5 for the front tires, but the 285 should work on the rear with the 10".

This should still be a rather conservative setup but a lot better than stock. So do I go with 9.5 or 10 for the rear? And should I stick with the 245 & 275?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Default Ordered Forgestar wheels today

Ordered today. 19" 8.5"F/10"R. Bright Silver. 8-10wk for delivery. Forgestar suggests offset of 32mm Front and 36mm rear.

That seems wrong - should be about +25 for the rear right? (see DPRSupra's signature)

im not sure how much this helps you but im on stock 2IS wheels 18x8 front and 18x8.5 rear on 25mm front spacers and 38 mm rear spacers without rub on 225 front and 255 rear tires. If you look up the offset of the stock 2IS wheel and calculate my spacers that might help you out.

If you want the wheels to be flush, you can do +20 front and +25 rear

Agree ....I'm on that setup with Forgestar F05 with F 19x8.5 +32mm & R 19x10 +35mm. It looks fine but not flush enough.

get +20 front and +25 rear if you could. It would not rub unless you have fat tires

Can't wait to see some F14 on the SC

Fantastic I'll call them tomorrow and see what they can do. I might do a bit less than flush. They said they made that same fitment for another SC430 - must be yours grabber2. I plan to order Continental DWS's when the wheels are ready. 245/35/19 and 285/30/19 --- recommended for the 8.5 and 10" width. Thanks.

I guess so....since I gave them info that the wheel was for a SC430......

In my case with the F05, the lowest offset they have for the front is +32 so i have no choice. For the rear, get something lower than +30 if you want it to look more flush, if not stay with 35, 32 or 30

From Forgestar:
19x8.5 offsets from +26 to +48
19x10 offsets from +20 to +44

If I would order again, I will have
19x8.5 offsets +26
19x10 offset +30

My current setup: no rubbing at all, still have about 10~15mm gap before rubbing
19x8.5 offsets +32 with 225-40-19
19x10 offset +35 with 265-35-19

This setup is not aggressive enough, but it also won't cause any rubbing issue. I chose the less aggressive setup because I don't want to deal with tire rubbing issue

note** order now if you want them because production time is 4~8 weeks before shipping. I got mine delivery on week 9

I got the tire recommendations from the spec table for those tires at the tire rack website. For the sc430 they recommend the 245 and 275 but when you check the Rim Width you see that 285 is better for the 10" wheels.

Note that these tires keep almost the same total tire height and no. of revs so no need to re-calibrate the speedometer.

Stock 245/45/19x8 +45 = 110.25 mm 811 revs height 25.7

245/35/19x8.5 = 85.75mm 808 revs 25.8
285/30/19.10 = 85.5mm 811 revs 25.7

Measuring Rim Width

The measuring rim width is the industry standardized rim width upon which the tire must be mounted in order to confirm it meets its dimensional targets. Because the width of the rim will influence the width of the tire, a standard rim width for every tire size is assigned and must be used. This standardized measuring rim width allows all of the tires produced around the world to meet the same dimensional standards and therefore, be equivalent with regards to their physical size. The measuring rim width is sometimes referred to as the tire's "design rim width."

The assigned measuring rim width changes with the tire size's section width and with the tire size's aspect ratio. As tire section width increases, the measuring rim width increases proportionately in 1/2" increments. Therefore, relatively narrow wheel widths are assigned for smaller tires while wider wheel widths are assigned for larger tires.

tire rack also recommends 245 up front and 275 rear on the stock wheel set up....275 on a 8 inch rim dosent seem right I have 8.5 wide wheels from the 2IS and run 255s....I thought 265 was pushing it. I was gonna do a 275 maybe on my 19x9 ISF wheels and even then I was thinking thet 265 was the right size and 275 might be the wrong application....any thoughts? Can anyone speak from experience?

235 is a better match to 275. And 245 is a better match to 285. The tires will will be closer in overall circumference.
