Retracting Streering Wheel Creates Noise
I have noticed that when my steering wheel is retracting it makes a noise. This started recently with the quick change from very cold to very hot weather. A workaround would be to disable the moving mechanism, or somehow lubricate it so it doesn't squeak.
Has anyone else noticed this on the SC430?

Yep, I had this. It was the flexible cowl around the column rubbing against the dash. I just wiped it with some WD 40 (not sure if you have that in the US) silicone spray, problem solved.

Jason,
Yes, this is a common noise and painful to listen to.
Steve,
Thanks for the diagnosis. I haven't been able to reproduce it in front of a mechanic and never took the time to track it down myself. So this will be useful to me this summer when temperatures are back above 110degF outside again.
